There is a lot to learn about space and it is ever so interesting to see things that people have never been able to see before our rapid rise in technology. Especially since NASA compiled a space playlist that’s as spooky as ever!
We have had several very interesting and groundbreaking space exploration missions take place in the last twenty years – even in the last decade. Mission Juno was launched in August of 2011, and NASA has collected some amazing discoveries from the mission. Juno entered Jupiter’s orbit on July 4, 2016. The findings from the first data collection pass, which flew over about 2,600 miles of Jupiter’s swirling clouds. However, along with the journey, NASA was able to pick up some sound clips from outer space that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up!
Just in time for Halloween, NASA has compiled some clips of sound they recorded on mission Juno! The sounds were recorded off lightning storms in Jupiter’s magnetosphere, starlight curving into sound, and even the passing of a comet!
NASA’s Soundcloud Introduction to the playlist says,
“Soaring to the depths of our universe, gallant spacecraft roam the cosmos, snapping images of celestial wonders. Some spacecraft have instruments capable of capturing radio emissions. When scientists convert these to sound waves, the results are eerie to hear.
In time for Halloween, we’ve put together a compilation of elusive “sounds” of howling planets and whistling helium that is sure to make your skin crawl.
You can see the playlist below! Be sure to listen to each of the amazing recordings of space sounds and let us know what you think!
