Sometimes children are considered too much of a burden on their parents and are sent off to boarding schools or other places of that sort. This is something parents do in hopes of helping their children however in some cases help is the one thing they don’t get.
One of these ‘fine establishments’ was known as the Authur G. Dozier School For Boys this facility was open from the 1900s to 2011 and no one who was ever a ‘student’ there has any fond memories of the place. Recently, it has come to the light that staff members would sexually, physically, and mentally abuse their students. This happening to the point where somewhere around fifty children actually lost their lives.
This is known as one of the most terrifying institutions in the United States and with good reason. Photos of this creepy place have recently been surfacing thanks to young photographers. According to many of those who survived this place, there was a ‘rape dungeon.’ This dungeon being the room in which teachers would sexually assault these poor defenseless students.
While the photos captured are intense they do not even begin to capture the horrors that went on in behind those walls. When parents would finally get their children from this house of terrors they would be covered in bruises and too traumatized to speak. Some parents were even told that their children had gone missing only to never hear from them again.
In this ‘school’ children who misbehaved were either forced to lie on a cot and whipped with a leather belt or chained to the walls and beaten for the most part, but that being said there were many other terrible deeds done to these children. While this facility was closed back in 2011 investigations into the abuse and missing children has only recently started. According to the Daily Mail UK, 55 bodies that had been around for years were exhumed from graves. They were able to account for 31 of these bodies but the other 24 are a mystery at the moment.
There has to be someone out there who knew this abuse was going on and said nothing; this is what happens when we don’t speak up and do something about wrongdoings. These poor children could not defend themselves. It is said that white boys did not have it quite as bad as the African American students here, but no one was free of abuse. Those who survived this terrible place all have horrific stories to tell. For a little more information on this little chunk of hell please take the time to watch the video below.
