Black holes are some of the most confusing phenomena out there in space. Scientists and researchers have yet to understand them and NASA just saw something come out of one for the first time ever!
We don’t know much about black holes except for their dark and expansiveness that can consume anything that crosses its path, even time itself. According to NASA, a black hole is a place in space where gravity pulls so much that even light cannot escape its grasp. The immense gravity is so strong because the matter has been squeezed into a tiny space. They likely form when a star dies and implodes into likely multiple dimensions. They can be both big and small, but none of them are more visible. Space telescopes with special tools and technology can help identify a black hole, but the naked eye can never see them. However, NASA just saw something humans have never seen before – something coming out of a black hole.
“You don’t have to know a whole lot about science to know that black holes typically suck things in, not spew things out. But NASA just spotted something mighty strange at the supermassive black hole Markarian 335.”
“So, what exactly happened? That’s what we are trying to figure out now,” according to Fiona Harrison
“This is the first time we have been able to link the launching of the corona to a flare, this will help us understand how supermassive black holes power some of the brightest objects in the universe”
To continue the statement:
“NuSTAR’s principal investigator, Fiona Harrison, noted that the nature of the energetic source is “mysterious,” but added that the ability to actually record the event should provide some clues about the black hole’s size and structure, along with (hopefully) some fresh intel on how black holes function. Luckily for us, this black hole is still 324 million light-years away. So, no matter what strange things it’s doing, it shouldn’t have any effect on our corner of the universe.” – according to NASA’s statement
What do you think could have emerged out of this black hole? Perhaps it was the first extraterrestrial visitors into our milky way galaxy our solar system! The possibilities are literally endless!
