Futurist Elon Musk just recently published his intentions to colonize Mars, and you can find it online, free for your viewing.
His plans were published by SpaceX’s billionaire founder and CEO, according to the Scientific American. However, the plans and his intentions of publishing them were made public back in September of 2016 during a conference in Mexico. Musk’s paper entitled, “Make Humanity a Multi-Planetary Species” can be viewed online until July 5th.
Experts from Slate believe his vision is doable; not only that but it seems that it could improve various factors regarding space travel in general. However, we can only speculate as to how soon we could see such improvements and futuristic moves.
According to Musk, if we were to purchase a ticket to Mars currently, it could cost us around $10 billion. But, once he has made the “SpaceX Interplanetary Transport System” fully operational, the prices could drop to $200,000.
Throughout the paper, Musk offers a number of proposals that he feels could make this happen, including reusing rockets to reduce the cost of spaceflight thousandfold, according to Business Insider. Unfortunately, many details are missing, but Musk tells his followers to be patient, as the second version will be coming soon.
