North Carolina Gov. Pat McCroy called for a state of emergency in Charlotte Wednesday night after violence escalated as residents continued to protest the fatal shooting of an African-American man by a police officer a day prior.
This has really started getting out of hand and guess what, if you are participating in a violent protest then you are doing exactly what they want you to do. What has this world come to when protestors try and throw an innocent photographer into a fire, or when multiple men beat, drag, and strip and innocent man?

How is beating an innocent man going to help the discourse about police violence against black men?
There were many reports of violence from the Charlotte, North Carolina unrest Wednesday night, but the most shocking example is when rioters tried to throw an innocent photographer into a burning fire.
But the truth is when you look at statistics the vast majority of suspects killed by police are white.
The University of Toledo criminologist Dr. Richard R. Johnson examined the latest data from the FBI and CDC. From 2003 through 2012, law enforcement killed an average of 429 people per year. These estimates included a relatively small number of innocent people killed by cops and many more who died due to reasonable use of force.
The biggest problem that black men face is that black lives don’t matter to other black men. On average, 4,472 black men were killed by other black men annually between Jan 1, 2009, and Dec 31, 2012, according to the FBI’s Supplementary Homicide reports. Using FBI and CDC statistics, Professor John calculates that 112 black men on average, suffered both justified and unjustified police-involved deaths annually during this period.
This equates to 2.5% of these 4,472 yearly deaths. For ever black man, criminal or innocent, killed by a cop, 30 men were murdered by other black men.
So by going out and causing a scene and hurting innocent people, you are becoming part of the problem. All live matter!
