Nancy Grace and Ashleigh Banfield were featured split-screen style in an interview on CNN. Nothing odd about that, right? Well, everything seemed pretty legitimate until everyone realized that both reporters were standing in the same parking lot, facing the same direction….
Banfield and Grace were both in Phoenix to report on the trial of Jodi Arias. Making it appear as though they were stationed in separate locations, they spoke to one another dramatically via CNN split screen. As the interview went on, according to the Atlantic Wire, it became quite noticeable that the two reporters were actually in the same place, with the same vehicles driving behind them, and in front of the same building.
“It seems that Grace and Banfield are sitting in the same parking lot, facing in the same direction, and judging by the speed of the vehicles in their shots, they cannot be sitting more than 30 feet away from each other,” wrote the Atlantic Wire’s Dashiell Bennett and Philip Bump.
We have to wonder what exactly the purpose was in the misrepresentation that took place in this interview, furthermore, what were the ends that were met in doing so?
