Lots of people love Alexa, she is in the homes of millions and with good reason. She works well; however, recently she has been giving off random and quite disturbing laughter that is scaring a lot of people.
The whole idea of Alexa, in general, is a bit terrifying considering the amount of data that can be collected and stored. However, most people look past that and use her because she is convenient. Now, for anyone who may be a bit behind or just not know who or what Alexa is. Alexa is a robot speaker, a device you can connect to and use for different things.
While people have mentioned peculiar responses from her they have never really dealt with something like what they are facing in current times. Apparently, people are now reporting that Alexa has started laughing creepily. She has been doing this randomly during moments of silence and even occasionally when asked questions.
WHY DID MY ALEXA JUST LAUGH OUT OF THE BLUE?!?!?!?

Lying in bed about to fall asleep when Alexa on my Amazon Echo Dot lets out a very loud and creepy laugh… there’s a good chance I get murdered tonight.

No one knows why this is happening but if you look on Twitter or Reddit and do a quick search it is quite the widespread issue. There is no clear ‘trigger’ and some have even mentioned that their devices are not making the chyme sound when they are doing this either. Why is Alexa laughing at us?
I live alone and have lights controlled by Amazon Echo. Tonight, while sleeping, i closed my eyes and said “Alexa, lamp off.”
I heard a woman laugh, and lights were still on.
Now, I know that stupid device heard “laugh” instead of “lamp off”, but I can’t sleep anymore….. #fml

Well, a lot of people think this is some kind of AI plot to take over the world, but I am not as convinced. Could it be a mere joke or is there more to it than we realize? Either way, Alexa is even more creepy now than she has ever been. According to The Verge, Amazon is aware of this issue and is working on a way to fix it so hopefully, it will all be done with soon.
“Amazon confirms Alexa devices are randomly laughing, but it’s unable to determine why and any attempts to stop the laughter are thwarted.” This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but a laugh. The robot uprising has begun. https://t.co/cdiOjCqeWy

I guess if your Amazon Alexa assisted speaker becomes too creepy you could just unplug it. Feel free to check out the video below to learn what you should do if Alexa begins to laugh at you. What do you think is behind all of this?
