Many discoveries have been happening in recent years, this is thanks to all of the technology we have at our disposal. Even the most unlikely individuals are capable of doing great things.
A young man by the name of William Gadoury of Canada has done just this, Gadoury discovered the one of the largest Mayan city just this past year. This is something we don’t see the average 15-year-old doing but for Gadoury, this was a piece of cake. He had been studying the Mayans for several years according to the Journal de Montreal.
Gadoury took the time to analyze twenty-two Mayan constellations on because of his theory that the Mayans chose the locations of their cities according to the shape of the constellations of stars. He worked hard to link the stars of the constellations on a map. This was something no scientist had yet discovered.
After analyzing a twenty-third constellation Gadoury was able to place another Mayan city on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. He went further with this and analyzed images from various satellites and worked with international space agencies to reveal that there was indeed an actual pyramid as well as thirty-something buildings at the very location he had determined as the site.
He named this lost city K’AAH ‘CHI’ which means “Mouth of fire” in french. It is amazing that someone so young was able to discover something so amazing. With the technology we are given today we can expect many great things from the young folk. Who knows what other amazing things Gadoury will find in the future, only time will tell.
