These days narcissists are everywhere. Today’s generations are some of the most selfish and inconsiderate people Earth has ever seen. A bit harsh, but extremely true.
Today everyone is overly self-obsessed. Nobody cares about anything other than what they can get, what they look like, what people think of them, or something they don’t have but others do. Nobody takes other people into consideration these days and it’s ridiculous. You have to obsessively careful about the people you let in your life these days because there are so many narcissists and manipulators. It’s become a regular thing today to become taken advantage of by someone trying to serve themselves.
Narcissists are some of the most charismatic and moving people there is. They know just the right words to say to get you to fall into their trap. They butter you up just the right way so that you let yourself be vulnerable to them, and then they essentially attack. You must watch out for these 9 signs of a narcissist. Do not let these kinds of people in your life at any cost.
1. They Stretch the Truth
A narcissist will do anything to make you hold them in a high esteem. They very low-key one up you on everything you’re interested in and proud of. They want you to think highly of them so they consistently stretch the truth about any talents, achievements, or status claims they tell you. They do it to everyone and if you pay attention you notice them doing it.
2. Their Claims Don’t Add Up
Just like they stretch the truth on achievements and talents, a narcissist will additionally stretch the truth when it comes to some insanely outrageous claims. You notice that they tell extremely elaborate stories that are literally outrageous, yet there is never evidence to back up their claim or someone else who saw it.
3. Their Stories Change
When it comes to telling people stories a narcissist will always add in some new details to spice things up. They twist things around, specifically to benefit them. You can see this anytime when they are telling someone else about a story they’ve already told you. Small details are different and occasionally they will leave out large and important ones.
4. They Require Constant Attention
Narcissists often reveal themselves with their constant need for attention. It’s like they feed off the admiration of others and they always have to be under the spotlight. They are always the one to be talking in the center of the group and they even interrupt others when they haven’t been recognized for a moment.
5. They’re Ignorant And Stuck In Their Ways
These types of people are extremely stuck in their ways. They say ignorance is bliss and it must be because they literally refuse to see the truth of things. They refuse to come out of their comfort zone or even be open-minded to something someone is talking about. Don’t even try to get them to admit a fault in an argument.
6. Their Problems Are Always Worse Than Yours
A narcissist will always be sure to make it known that they have it worse than anyone around them. No matter what you are talking about happened to you, they will always have the experience to top it. They expect everyone around them to listen to their problems, but they are never there to listen to your venting.
7. They’re Envious
You will notice that they are very envious people. They have invested so much time and money in having the things that other people have, yet they are always wanting more – regardless of the fact that they already have a lot. They are so bothered when other people have nice things. Take note of their reaction when you are talking about something good that’s happened to you.
8. When They’re Feeling Bad They Are Destined To Make Everyone Around Them Feel Bad
Narcissists are always going to make sure everyone else is in the same mood as they are. Everyone around them has to base their entire day off of the mood of the narcissist. If they are in a bad mood I assure you they will make sure you’re in one too.
9. They Love Drama
Drama enables them to feel powerful. They get a sense of superiority from it, almost as if they keep talking about other people it’ll keep others talking about them. They always bring drama and force you to become involved.
