Depression is a terrible monster, and this monster can affect anyone. Most people feel like this monster is one they have to fight on their own but they are wrong.
Someone you know and love could be battling depression right now and you might not even notice it. Some people go through life wearing a mask of happiness to hide their depression. They do this for many reasons but the most common is that even if they showed their true feelings, no one would understand what they are feeling. 1. They are overly happy.
People who are depressed often fake happiness to an extreme extent.
2. They crave love.
They are always looking for love anywhere they can get it.
3. They want to be accepted no matter what.
It seems like they need a little more emotional care. They seek acceptance in everyone around them.
4. They are overly creative.
Lots of creative people are depressed. If you take a look at a list of famous people who have dealt with depression that much will be obvious to you.
5. They talk about ‘life’s purpose’ and death.
They like to converse about what this life is about and where we go after. They seem concerned about both and will even become a bit repetitive when talking about this.
6. They have specific hobbies.
They use their hobbies as a means of medicating themselves. They know how to make their mind hush even if for just a few moments.
7. They lie.
Not all of the people dealing with depression lie, but when they do, it is usually just fabricating things as a means of making you think they are okay.
8. They ask for help.
Not everyone dealing with depression will ask for help but when it does happen we should never ignore it. Listen and do what you can.
9. They push people away.
If you haven’t done anything wrong and yet haven’t heard from your friend in weeks something could be going on.
10. They use alcohol or other drugs too much.
Some people use these things as a means to make them feel better or even numb.
11. They sleep too much or too little.
With depression either you can’t sleep at all or you sleep all the time.
12. They have trouble eating.
People with depression often lose their appetites often.
