Earth is an amazing planet full of life and spirit! We seriously can’t even imagine how awesome our planet is, but these photos taken from space can give you a good idea.
The earth is much bigger than we perceive it to be. It is a vast planet that is thriving with life, technology, and environmental works of art! Astronauts and astronomers have delivered us with some amazing news about space. We have found out much about the cosmic ball of life we live in from them. You’ll have a new appreciation for space exploration after you see these photos! You might even have a new perception of this gigantic planet we call earth.
Lightning Storm Over Earth
The International Space Station captured a stunning video of a lightning storm in the sky. The video taken is absolutely breathtaking and it will really expand your idea of how much goes on in our atmosphere! It was captured by Tim Peake as the space station made its journey across Turkey to Russia.
“Amazing how much lightning can strike our planet in a short time,” Peake wrote on Facebook.
London at Night
Today our big cities are bigger than we ever thought they’d be. There have been major technological advances in the last century, and you can see it clearly by the way our planet illuminates with light. Former British Army Air Corps Officer and the first British European Space Agency Astronaut uploaded some breathtaking photos of London, England at night!
Many astronauts primary jobs are to photograph interesting events and objects in space. They are trained excessively in photography, and it is obvious in their photos. You can really see the detail put into taking the best picture when you look at this photo taken of the Aurora Borealis.
Earth Art from Australia
Commander Scott Kelley posted a photo of gorgeous Australian terrain while doing a flyover back in October 2015. It is part of a 17 photo series, too!
Fan Art from Australia
This image of the northwest corner of Australia “was snapped by a student on Earth after remotely controlling the Sally Ride EarthKAM aboard the International Space Station,” according to NASA.
This photo taken from the international space station shows the bare naturalness of our planet. Rain deprived areas like Oman where NASA Astronaut Kjell Lindgren took this photo show how similar the Earth is to our own anatomical geography.
The Eye of the Storm
Commander Kelly took this amazing photo of Hurricane Danny as the International Space Station made its way across the central Atlantic ocean.
British Columbia’s Coast
This mind blowing photo was taken of British Columbia’s coast by Tim Peake on January 5, 2016.
The Ultimate Skybox
Commander Kelly snapped This photo of Levi’s Stadium on the evening of Super Bowl 50.
A bit different than the Vincent Van Gogh painting, but just as beautiful. This photo of England, the Baltic Sea, and the Persian Gulf was captured by Samantha Cristoforetti.
What a sunrise looks like from space.
